Sometimes a pregnant woman has bloody vaginal discharge; such bleeding can sometimes be caused by the attachment of the pregnancy to the inside of the womb (called implantation bleeding). However, bleeding may be a sign of an imminent or ongoing miscarriage.

- Sexual intercourse
- Vaginal infection
- Molar pregnancy (wrongly formed pregnancy)
- An ectopic pregnancy (when the pregnancy is in the wrong place outside the womb)
What you can do
Visit a doctor for examination; you will need to do a pelvic scan to see the location of the pregnancy and to know if the pregnancy is okay.
You may also benefit from the following
- Bed rest
- Take time off work to rest, avoid stress
- Avoid lifting of load
- Avoid sexual intercourse for that period until your doctor say it is safe
