- Anal fissure; a tear in the anus. This may occur after passing a hard stool
- Hemorrhoid (pile); here something fleshy protrudes from the anus
- Infection around the anus
- Growths or cancer in the anus
- Presence of foreign body in the anus e.g. undigested fish bone lodging in the anus.
What you can do;
- Take plenty water; drink at least 3 liters of water (6 sachets of water) in a day
- Take diets high in fiber, including vegetables and fruits (with the fleshy part, not just the juice)
- Avoid postponing the urge to stool
- Do Sitz bath: put warm water in a potty, add little salt and antiseptic lotion. Sit on the potty so that the vapors from the mixture enter your anus. Do this twice thrice a day
- Get rectal anusol gels or analgesic suppositories to insert into the anus
- Visit your doctor for proper examination and treatment.
