- Wash the site of bite with clean water and soap
- Press the surface after cleaning if there is bleeding
- Cover the bite site with clean bandages
- Do not tie the site of bite
- Do not suck the site of bite
- Do not cut the site with sharp objects
- Visit your doctor as soon as possible, he will recommend tetanus immunization, antibiotics and other care
- Locate the owner of the dog, ask if the dog has had rabies immunization till date
Prevention of dog bite
- Do not disturb a dog when it is eating, sleeping or nursing puppies
- Do not pull a dog’s tail
- Do not play with or feed dogs you are not familiar with
- Walk away if a dog growls at you, do not run. Keep your hands by your side, avoid eye contact and slowly back away
- If you fall when the dog attacks, curl into the shape of a ball, use your hands to cover your ears, avoid screaming or rolling around.
