How to properly use a male condom
- Check the condom, make sure it is not damaged or expired
- Tear the condom with your hand, not your teeth or scissors
- Put 2 drops of lubricant in the tip of the condom
- Wear the condom at erection before insertion
- With one hand, pinch the tip of the condom to expel air, use the other hand to roll the condom on the penis
- Add lubricant to the outside of the condom
- After intercourse, hold the base of the condom as you pull out of the woman
- Dispose the used condom appropriately
- Do not use a condom more than once
- if you feel the condom has burst or dislodged during intercourse
- Stop sexual intercourse
- The woman should clean up, and use emergency contraception e.g. prostinol
