How to prevent still birth

stillbirth means death of a baby in the womb

common causes from the mother include malaria, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, poorly controlled asthma, illicit drug use, and other illness

other causes include infections in baby, small baby, torn placenta, blood group mismatch

stillbirth is confirmed if the baby’s heart is not beating on ultrasound scan

a pregnant woman should go to the hospital if she cannot feel her baby move, or if the baby’s kick has reduced

If a stillbirth occurs, the hospital team will advise on best ways to get the baby out, a labour may be induced, or a surgery may be advised.

One can prevent stillbirth by attending antenatal care, and following the advice of your doctor and midwife
