- Wet diapers
- Excessive cold or heat
- Constipation
- Illness
- Infection (such baby may also have high temperature, refusal to feed and reduced activity)
- Teething
- Colic; a child with colic cries excessively, has a red face, draws up legs and clenches fist while crying
What you can do
- Try to breastfeed your baby
- Hold, rock and cuddle your baby
- Check the diaper, change it if wet or soiled
- Check the baby’s body for any possible cause of pain
- Check your baby’s temperature with a digital thermometer
- Take your baby to a doctor if he/she is inconsolable, or if the temperature is high or if there signs of colic.
