- Low blood sugar e.g. in people who eat infrequently, in diabetic patients on insulin or glucose-lowering tablets
- High blood sugar e.g., in diabetic patients who are not compliant with medications
- Low blood level e.g. after heavy menstrual flow in women, after blood loss in accident, in people with intestinal worms
- Low blood pressure
- Dehydration i.e. reduced body water e.g. after sweating excessively, or after copious vomiting or diarrhea
- Alcohol intake
- Medications e.g., some cough syrups, tramadol, valium
- Use of Illicit substances; cocaine, marijuana,
What you can do
- Take a drink or a glass of milk
- Have a rest; lay down flat
- Avoid sudden change in posture
- Avoid moving your head too fast
- Do not operate a machine if dizzy
- Visit your doctor if the dizziness persists or if you experience headaches, palpitation, or vertigo (feeling that the environment is spinning around you).
