- Chest infection
- Lung tuberculosis
- Chest injury/trauma
- Aspiration of food
- Lung cancer
- Clots in the lungs called pulmonary embolism
- Violent coughing
- Use of blood thinners e.g., aspirin, warfarin
What you may do;
Go to hospital immediately. Your doctor will examine you and may conduct tests on you e.g. chest X-ray, blood count, clotting profile etc.
